Peel the potato, wash and cut into 1cm cubes.
Peel the onion leaving only the white part.
Shell the peas (keep the pods).
Place the potato, the onions and the peas in the steam basket.
Pour water into the tank (level 3) and start cooking.
Place the cooked food in the blender bowl with the ham and butter. Mix by adding some of the cooking liquid until the desired consistency.
Chef’s tip
Keep the pea pods to make a creamy soup. Cook them for about 20 minutes with some chicken stock blending very carefully and if possible, pass through a strainer. It is delicious both for babies and adults! For adults or older kids, you can even add a little whipped cream, and a few pieces of mint leaves, for a "cappuccino verde".
For the nutrition conscious
Peas are rich in carbohydrates (sugars), as are potatoes, this recipe should therefore be followed by a simple sauce, with no other starch. Avoid desserts with a semolina base or rice cakes.
As a replacement for those intolerant to lactose and those who do not eat pork
The knob of butter can be replaced by vegetable, sunflower or rapeseed oil for their neutral taste.
Instead of ham, you can use chicken or turkey breast, or from some other poultry.
